Job Overview
UST is seeking a Tester I - Software Testing professional with expertise in Java, Automation Frameworks, and API Testing. This role involves executing and designing systematic test cases, ensuring software quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute test cases based on customer requirements and user stories.
- Ensure new or updated components meet performance, usability, reliability, and compatibility standards.
- Document test results and report defects promptly.
- Conduct smoke testing to verify system readiness.
- Identify, log, and track defects through resolution and retesting.
- Perform regression, load, and performance testing for APIs.
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to clarify requirements and improve test coverage.
- Participate in code reviews and uphold automation code quality standards.
- Stay updated with the latest trends in API testing and automation tools.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Proficiency in Java programming.
- Experience with test automation frameworks such as JUnit or TestNG.
- Hands-on experience with API testing tools like Postman, Rest Assured, or SoapUI.
- Understanding of RESTful and SOAP APIs.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies, processes, and standards.
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience
0–2 years of experience in API and automation testing.
