Overview
About the Role
IBM's Infrastructure division is at the forefront of developing advanced Servers, Storage, Systems, and Cloud Software, forming the backbone for next-generation enterprise IT infrastructure. The India Systems Development Lab (ISDL), part of this division, works across diverse technologies including processors, firmware, operating systems, systems software, storage, cloud solutions, performance engineering, and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in all phases of product development: design, development, testing, and support.
- Collaborate with global product management teams and end users to deliver high-quality IBM Systems products.
- Analyze requirements, design solutions, implement code, and ensure thorough testing.
- Work on validation and support for IBM Systems products.
- Contribute to innovations and adopt modern development methodologies such as Agile, Design Thinking, and DevOps.
Required Technical Expertise
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, cloud concepts, virtualization, microservices architecture, and container technologies (Kubernetes, OpenStack).
- Proficiency in programming languages: C, C++, GoLang, Python, Ansible, Shell Scripting.
- Experience with REST APIs, DevOps practices, and open-source tools.
- For AI-focused roles: knowledge in AI/ML/DL, data science, NLP, and frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn.
- Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and cloud storage solutions.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Java, ReactJS, cloud computing platforms (Red Hat OpenShift), and storage technologies (SAN, NAS, DAS).
- Understanding of networking concepts, backup tools, and deployment strategies.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
