Software Engineer I — Web Applications (.NET/C#, Cloud, SQL)

About the Role

Honeywell is seeking an entry-level Software Engineer to develop and maintain modern web applications and APIs using C#/.NET, SQL databases, and cloud platforms. This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to learn, write clean code, and deliver value in an agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop features and APIs in C#/.NET (ASP.NET Core, Web API) with unit and integration tests.
• Design and query SQL databases, including schema changes, stored procedures, and query optimization.
• Deploy and operate cloud-hosted services (Azure App Service/Functions, storage, secrets, CI/CD pipelines).
• Participate in agile ceremonies, code reviews, and follow secure coding practices.
• Troubleshoot defects, implement logging/metrics, and contribute to documentation.
• Integrate front-end elements with back-end APIs when required.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Proficiency in C# and .NET (ASP.NET Core, Web API, MVC), asynchronous programming, and OOP.
• Experience with SQL queries, joins, indexes, and database performance optimization.
• Basic understanding of major cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP) and CI/CD concepts.
• Ability to write unit tests and use mocking frameworks.
• Awareness of secure coding principles and application monitoring.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in agile teams using Git.

Preferred Skills

• Entity Framework Core and migrations.
• RESTful API design and documentation (Swagger).
• Basic front-end framework exposure (React or Angular).
• Experience with Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions and Infrastructure as Code.
• Knowledge of Docker and microservices.
• Performance tuning and troubleshooting.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience. 0–2 years of software development experience (including internships).
