About the Role
Amazon is seeking talented individuals for the role of Software Development Engineer I as part of its University Talent Acquisition program. The position offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, solve complex problems, and directly impact millions of customers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and launch innovative products and services.
- Develop and implement scalable technologies in large distributed computing environments.
- Create solutions for predictive analytics using advanced distributed systems.
- Build and optimize distributed storage, indexing, and querying systems.
- Design and code solutions to broadly defined technical challenges.
- Work within agile frameworks to deliver high-quality software efficiently.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals including object-oriented design, algorithms, data structures, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Java, or Perl.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous technical internship experience.
- Knowledge of distributed, multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational databases.
- Experience with optimization mathematics including linear and nonlinear programming.
- Ability to articulate technical challenges and propose effective solutions.
- Comfortable working with ambiguous or undefined problems and thinking abstractly.
