About the Role
IBM is seeking passionate and driven individuals to join as Software Developer Interns in our CDO Platform & Architecture team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge data processing platforms while collaborating with global experts in technology and consulting.
Key Responsibilities
- Write and maintain code for next-generation data processing platforms.
- Support platform co-creators and contributors.
- Participate in all stages of application development including design, coding, CI/CD pipeline setup, and unit testing.
- Adapt to and learn new technologies as required for platform development.
- Conduct peer code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and style guidelines.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles.
- Proficiency in at least one statically typed language (Java) and one dynamically typed language (Python).
- Experience with xUnit testing frameworks and working with mocks, stubs, and fakes.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.
- Experience with concurrent programming (multi-threading, multi-processing, or worker architectures).
- Hands-on experience with Core Java, OOAD, Design Patterns, APIs, and library development.
- Familiarity with Microservices (gRPC/REST), Docker, Kubernetes, Protobuf/Thrift, NoSQL databases, and Big Data technologies.
- Experience using Git and Linux environments.

- Ability to write and break down user stories into actionable tasks.
- Continuous learning attitude with adaptability to new challenges.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (required).
