About the Role
The 451 Research M&A Knowledgebase (MAKB) team is looking for a detail-oriented and highly curious researcher to gather and process data and insight on the acquisition and funding of technology companies. 451 Research is a team of analysts focused on emerging and disruptive technologies and was acquired by S&P Global Market Intelligence in December 2019.
This is a strong opportunity for an ambitious person who wants to build experience in finance and M&A while learning about the technology industry in a fast-growing, client-facing division. The MAKB database is used by 80% of active technology investment bankers and many of the most active technology acquirers.
As a Data Researcher, you will help expand, maintain and improve the integrity of the database. You will use external sources such as press releases, newswires, company websites and government and regulatory documents, along with internal sources including 451 analyst reports, CapIQ and Market Intelligence, to collect, summarize and enter meaningful information into the MAKB.

Responsibilities
- Process data accurately and enter it into the database following 451 Research standards
- Source and validate announced transactions to determine coverage from multiple data sources
- Develop a good understanding of public and private company financial data
- Meet pre-defined daily deal entry deadlines for newsletter publishing with quality and efficiency
- Build industry knowledge of technology and M&A trends
- Provide input and ideas to improve daily workflow methods
- Troubleshoot problems and support the team
What We Are Looking For

- Excellent written communication skills
- Strong desire to learn about technology and finance
- Willingness to work rotational and later shifts, as the team also works with colleagues in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in technology and/or finance research is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office, PathFinder and Celsus is helpful
