The Role: Data Analyst.
The Team: This opening is within S&P’s Transactions division, which publishes data related to Mergers and Acquisitions and Capital Markets. The Transaction Researcher acts as an in-house specialist, gaining exposure to specific regions while collaborating with global teams and learning industry dynamics.
The Impact: The Transactions team is a diverse global group committed to supporting S&P clients and maintaining high standards of data quality. The team promotes education in covered industries, encourages idea sharing, and empowers employees to grow in their careers.

Responsibilities
- Track and gather detailed transaction information in a proprietary database following S&P guidelines for the assigned sector.
- Extract and verify required data using search tools, press releases, websites, trade documents, and regulatory filings.
- Provide suggestions for improved data collection approaches and product enhancements.
- Review feedback related to transaction content and help correct errors while refining processes to increase accuracy.
- Meet individual and team targets while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Stay informed about industry developments and reporting standards.
What We’re Looking For
- MBA or M.Com with a strong academic background.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and collaborate in a team while meeting deadlines.
- Understanding of corporate finance, capital markets, and valuation concepts.
- Knowledge of financial statements and the ability to interpret annual reports.
- Capability to take initiative and work resourcefully.
- Strong attention to detail with a consistent and persistent work approach.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong quantitative and analytical abilities.
- Ability to perform effective thematic research using online sources.
- Familiarity with database or automation tools is an added advantage.
- Flexibility to work in morning, evening, or night shifts as required.
