About the Role

S&P Global is an information company that uses technology and data science to provide insights, software, and data that help customers make better informed decisions. This apprentice role is in the Notice Manager department, which is the leading provider of leveraged loan referential and transactional datasets for the industry.

The apprenticeship program offers hands-on experience alongside industry experts, letting you apply academic knowledge to real-world challenges. You will receive learning resources and mentoring from experienced professionals, and join a global community of mentors, peers and wider teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Help turn business requirements into technical solutions for the leveraged loan industry
• Learn and contribute to cloud-based application development and maintenance
• Support the development of data mastering systems for the syndicated loan market
• Write and maintain code in languages such as C# while following coding standards and best practices
• Take part in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives
• Work with developers, business analysts and team members to understand requirements and deliver quality solutions
• Learn and apply SDLC principles including requirements analysis, design, testing and deployment
• Document code, processes and technical specifications as required
• Join knowledge sharing sessions and continuous learning activities

The apprentice will also support the maintenance of existing operational products and contribute to new features under the guidance of senior developers.

What We Are Looking For

• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a B.E or B.Tech in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or IT
• Strong academic record with a passion for software development
• Demonstrated interest in technology and problem-solving
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
• Aptitude to learn and adapt quickly in a changing environment
• Ability to build strong working relationships in a collaborative setting
• Legally eligible to work for the duration of the program in the country where you apply

Recommended Skills

• Knowledge of or experience with Object-Oriented Programming concepts
• Familiarity with C# or other .NET technologies (preferred)
• Basic understanding of database concepts and MS SQL (preferred)
• Exposure to version control systems such as Git (a plus)
• Understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript (desirable)
• Basic knowledge of software design principles and patterns (a plus)
• Eagerness to learn cloud technologies such as AWS
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
