Job Overview
Qualcomm is seeking 2025 Master's graduates for a 1 year software engineering internship program in Chennai. Interns will contribute to software design and development for Qualcomm mobile chipsets built on advanced technologies.
The role involves working across multimedia, wireless modem, platform software, and IoT technologies for connected devices and embedded platforms.
Key Areas of Work
- Multimedia technologies including audio, video codecs, and image processing
- Wireless modem technologies such as 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, and self-organizing networks
- Platform software including Linux, Android, Windows, and board support packages
- IoT technologies for connected cameras, smart assistants, drones, virtual reality, and augmented reality
Responsibilities
- Develop real-time embedded software and device drivers
- Work on mobile software development for Android, Windows Mobile, or Linux platforms
- Contribute to multimedia software stacks, firmware, and driver development
- Support wireless modem and connectivity software and firmware development
- Participate in communication protocol stack software development
- Assist with kernel, BSP, and device driver development
- Work on application software and UI development
- Support software architecture and object-oriented design for embedded devices
Required Skills
- Good understanding of operating systems and data structures
- Knowledge of C/C++ and object-oriented programming concepts
- Familiarity with wireless standards such as CDMA, GSM, UMTS, and LTE
- Understanding of Linux/UNIX, Linux drivers, and kernel development
- Knowledge of networking protocols including TCP, UDP, IP, SIP, and RTP
- Exposure to multimedia technologies covering audio, video, and imaging
Education
Master's degree students in Computer Science Engineering, Communication Engineering, or Electronics and Communication Engineering are eligible to apply.
