Product Support Engineer Apprentice at S&P Global | Hyderabad

About the Role

S&P Global Market Intelligence is looking for a Product Support Engineer to join the Commercial Enterprise team in Hyderabad. The team works closely with Datafeed Application Specialists and Sales teams to deliver technical assistance to clients during deployment and troubleshooting of Enterprise Solutions. This role also evaluates the technical environments within client systems that could influence product performance.

Responsibilities

• Act as a product specialist for Distribution Solutions and provide detailed technical support to clients.
• Assist with product deployment and troubleshooting activities.
• Build strong knowledge of products from both content and delivery perspectives and support pre and post sales initiatives.
• Support S&P Market Intelligence API clients and ensure a high standard of client experience.
• Introduce ideas that improve automation and innovation within support processes.
• Create projects that help reproduce and resolve client issues.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries using MS SQL and Oracle to support client data usage and performance tuning.
• Research and stay updated on evolving product offerings.
• Evaluate client technical environments to identify factors affecting product performance.
• Participate in testing and user acceptance activities for new implementations and updates to Distribution Solutions applications.
• Maintain local infrastructure including database servers (Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server) and virtual machines.

Basic Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Master’s degree in Finance or Business Analytics along with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or Computer-related fields.
• Understanding of DBMS concepts.
• Knowledge of at least one programming language such as C#, Java, or .NET.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical capabilities with attention to detail.
• Willingness to work in rotating five-day shifts including extended night shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of RDBMS platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of financial statements and capital markets.
