About the Role
Join Microsoft as a Penetration Testing Intern and contribute to discovering and mitigating security vulnerabilities in software, hardware, and human systems. Under guidance, you will learn to develop and execute penetration testing strategies, identify security flaws, and recommend effective controls and mitigations.
Responsibilities
- Identify security vulnerabilities within assigned areas.
- Learn and adapt quickly to new targets with team support.
- Apply engineering principles to devise creative and robust security solutions.
- Use information channels to understand the context of potential threats.
- Corroborate guidance with real-world observations and assess the impact of vulnerabilities.
Qualifications
Required:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related field.
- At least one additional academic term remaining after internship completion.
- One year of programming experience in any language.
Preferred:
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree in related fields.
- Familiarity with foundational security concepts through coursework, labs, or beginner-level certifications such as Security+, SC-900, or Certified in Cybersecurity (CC).
