Major Duties

1. Conducts feasibility studies and defines and designs system requirements for complex data processing projects.
2. Develops and maintains computer programs, including designing, coding, testing, debugging and installation as needed.
3. Prepares project phase reports covering requirements, feasibility, definition and design. May also review and validate these to assess production impact and support needs.
4. Consults with partners from systems and other business units on new techniques, practices and technologies in data processing, and on the impact of proposed and ongoing projects.
5. Evaluates and recommends techniques, practices or technologies that enhance business needs, and drives continuous process improvements.
6. Takes part in strategic planning and long-range technology direction for the business unit.
7. Acts as technical or business consultant on project development, production health and the adoption of new processes.
8. Serves as a key subject matter expert and mentors Analyst level employees.
9. Works on projects while building project and process management skills.
10. Builds deeper technical expertise in the core area and broader knowledge of other areas.
11. Delivers work products that need fewer revisions.

Knowledge Required

Knowledge of programming languages and various business applications, usually gained through related experience, is required to support all project phases. Knowledge of programming, debugging and testing systems programs is needed to develop or maintain computer programs. Analytical and problem solving skills are needed for systems guidance.

About Our Pune Office

The Northern Trust Pune office was established in 2016 and now has over 3,000 employees. It handles functions including Operations for Asset Servicing and Wealth Management, and delivers technology solutions that support business operations globally.
