Overview

Commercial Engineering & AI (CEAI) works closely with stakeholders to accelerate the transformation of Microsoft’s commercial business into a frontier organization. The team combines AI-native engineering, modern platforms, and commercial expertise to reimagine how work is done at scale.

Customer Success Engineering (CSE) within CEAI develops and manages critical products and services used across Microsoft. The team focuses on building impactful solutions that help teams work smarter, faster, and more securely while advancing AI-driven commercial execution.

Microsoft is looking for Software Engineers who are passionate about building software and learning modern technologies. The role involves contributing to AI-powered engineering practices and delivering scalable solutions for business teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to solve business and technical challenges using AI tools to improve productivity and learning.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions for Microsoft Industry Solutions Delivery (ISD) and Customer Experience & Success (CE&S).
• Implement features, engineering patterns, coding standards, security requirements, and operational best practices.
• Use modern engineering methods and AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality and development efficiency.
• Analyze telemetry, logs, and operational data to troubleshoot issues and improve reliability.
• Maintain technical documentation and contribute to team knowledge repositories.
• Work with peer teams to deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Follow Responsible AI, privacy, security, and compliance requirements while building software.
• Learn and adopt emerging technologies, including AI-powered development approaches.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience coding in one or more languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Development experience with Azure resources and services.
• Exposure to Azure DevOps (VSO), Git, and modern engineering practices.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience or exposure to React or other JavaScript frameworks is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Microsoft technologies including .NET Framework, ASP.NET, C#, PowerShell, and SQL.
• Ability to use App Insights and Kusto for troubleshooting and operational analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
• Awareness of Responsible AI principles.
• Familiarity with Azure AI services.
• Basic understanding of AI concepts including LLMs, prompt engineering, agents, and RAG.
