Micron Hiring Quality and Reliability Engineer (Gujarat, India)

Job Description

As a Non-Volatile Memory QRA (NVMQRA) Solid State Drive (SSD) Quality and Reliability Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will manage the quality and reliability of Micron SSD products as they move into the high volume production phase of their lifecycle.

You will perform reliability testing and data analysis on materials tied to sustaining qualifications, including change requests, product proliferations, special work requests and conversions. You will also help manage product deviation events by taking part in containment activities and preparing quality and reliability evaluation plans for risk assessment.

You will manage outgoing quality and reliability (OQRM) metrics and conduct failure analysis on qualification, evaluation and OQRM failures, then report the resulting data. You will also join global meetings to set product priorities or product dispositions.

The role involves working with Engineering and Quality Reliability Assurance groups to provide technical support, expertise, consultation and training. You will support customers both inside and outside Micron on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Manage reliability evaluations for deviation management

• Define a reliability evaluation or trials plan
• Identify and manage material for sampling
• Analyze reliability test results and/or conduct failure analysis
• Close out evaluations and give feedback to stakeholders

Identify deviated material within the Material Review Board (MRB)

• Take part in containment activities
• Define a reliability evaluation or trials plan
• Identify and manage material for sampling
• Analyze reliability test results and/or conduct failure analysis
• Determine disposition of materials
• Close out evaluations and give feedback to stakeholders

Coordinate inputs from stakeholders in Quality Reliability

• Work with the discrete component product quality and reliability team on product reliability evaluations, trials and plans
• Work with the package quality and reliability team on package-related reliability evaluations, trials and plans

Manage Product Outgoing Quality and Reliability Monitoring

• Prepare the plan for operations to execute SSD product OQRM data collection
• Analyze data from the Micron Manufacturing Execution System (MES), such as MAM
• Use statistical analysis tools to draw conclusions and verify results
• Summarize analyzed data in a regular OQRM metrics report

Digital and AI tool usage

• Use AI-powered tools (such as Microsoft Copilot, agentic AI platforms and other generative AI solutions) to improve engineering effectiveness, automate routine tasks, analyze large datasets and improve decision quality.
• Drive adoption of AI-enabled workflows to raise productivity, shorten cycle time and improve knowledge sharing within the organization.

Provide expertise, consultation and training

• Communicate globally with NAND, Firmware, BUs and Engineering groups to manage priorities
• Train engineers and technicians inside and outside the group
• Maintain a knowledge base of lessons learned for each SSD market segment
• Keep up with quality and reliability issues for Micron NAND components
• Provide consultation for audits, RMA and customer issues
