Software Engineer I

Support software engineering activities including programming, testing, implementation, documentation, and delivery of software solutions. Research and evaluate technical alternatives to address changing business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, test, implement, document, maintain, and support application software following Mastercard standards and processes.
  • Develop secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions based on technical specifications and design artifacts within expected timelines and budgets.
  • Research, create, and assess technical solution alternatives for business needs.
  • Create system and testing documentation according to department standards.
  • Follow development and testing standards to ensure compliance with audit requirements.
  • Adhere to Mastercard quality assurance and quality control processes.
  • Support the collection and reporting of project and software metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to improve standards and increase process efficiency.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Basic understanding of software engineering concepts and methodologies.
  • 0 to 12 months of experience in software engineering.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Capable of learning and implementing new technologies, frameworks, and tools quickly.
  • Strong collaborative and organizational abilities with a proactive approach.
  • Comfortable working in matrix-based and geographically distributed project teams.
  • Willingness to learn and take on challenging assignments.
