Overview

  • Support the analysis, design, development, and delivery of software solutions.
  • Define requirements for new applications and customizations while following standards, processes, and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Follow established procedures for software delivery tasks including development, testing, and deployment.
  • Complete assigned work with guidance from experienced team members.
  • Seek code reviews proactively from senior engineers.
  • Understand the end-to-end logical architecture of systems within assigned ownership areas.
  • Provide suggestions and feedback for improvements.
  • Apply Mastercard technology policies in daily work activities.
  • Participate in engineering community and learning initiatives to share software practices.

Required Experience

  • Ability to write secure code using Java 17 and React JS.
  • Knowledge of Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
  • Understanding of branching strategies such as Gitflow and peer review practices.
  • Experience using tools like Sonar, Zally, and Checkmarx to evaluate code quality and identify anti-patterns.
  • Understanding of unit, service-level, and integration testing practices.
  • Knowledge of common design patterns including factory, adapter, singleton, composite, observer, strategy, and inversion of control.
  • Awareness of requirement analysis, prioritization, and effort estimation processes.
  • Understanding of SDLC methodologies including Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.
  • Familiarity with engineering principles related to security, testing, operability, customer experience, and service-oriented architecture.
  • Knowledge of application patterns such as APIs, event-driven services, batch services, web applications, and big data solutions.
  • Understanding of CI/CD concepts, automation pipelines, virtualization, and containerization.
  • Knowledge of functional and non-functional testing approaches.

Corporate Security Responsibility

  • Follow Mastercard security policies and practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of information and systems.
  • Report suspected information security incidents or violations.
  • Complete mandatory security training programs as required.
