The Services organization at Mastercard focuses on acquiring, engaging, and retaining customers while addressing fraud, risk, cybersecurity, and digital payment experiences. The Advisors & Consulting Services team blends management consulting expertise with Mastercard’s data assets, platforms, and technologies to deliver strategic insights and recommendations.
This team works with a wide range of global clients across industries including banking, payments, retail, and restaurants. Within the consulting group, specializations include Strategy & Transformation, Performance Analytics, Business Experimentation, Marketing, and Program Management.
Performance Analytics consultants transform data into actionable insights. They use Mastercard and client data to design, implement, and scale analytical solutions. The role involves applying both qualitative and quantitative techniques and using enterprise analytics tools to convert complex analysis into clear recommendations.
Roles and Responsibilities
Client Impact
- Provide creative contributions to projects spanning multiple industries and business challenges.
- Support the development of analytics strategies and programs for regional and global clients using data and technology solutions.
- Work with Mastercard teams to understand client objectives, priorities, and potential risks.
- Build working relationships with client analysts and managers and serve as a dependable partner.
Team Collaboration and Culture
- Work with senior project consultants to identify key insights, prepare presentations, and deliver recommendations.
- Independently detect trends, patterns, issues, and anomalies within defined analytical areas.
- Structure and synthesize analysis to highlight relevant findings and business insights.
- Lead internal or client meetings and contribute to project management activities.
- Support the development of the firm's intellectual capital and knowledge assets.
- Receive mentorship from performance analytics leaders to support professional growth.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree with experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or descriptive, predictive, or prescriptive analytics.
- Experience working with clients or internal stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful insights.
- Proficiency in analytics tools such as Python, R, SQL, or SAS.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks across several clients in a deadline driven environment.
- Strong English communication skills and ability to work in the local office language if required.
- Eligibility to work in the country of application and ability to obtain travel visas when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional experience in building and maintaining database structures.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Exposure to Hadoop ecosystem technologies including Impala, Hive, or PySpark.
- Experience managing tasks or workstreams within collaborative project teams.
- Ability to evaluate problems, analyze potential solutions, and implement effective outcomes.
- Relevant industry knowledge.
