Role Overview

The CTMC (Biz Ops React) team is hiring a BizOps Engineer I. Business Operations Engineers help maintain platform stability through effective monitoring and strong adherence to software run principles.

The role focuses on operational excellence, automation, and proactive system monitoring to build scalable and fault-tolerant products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement system changes, design operational processes, and promote automation.
  • Build reliable and scalable products through proactive monitoring and operational best practices.
  • Handle day-to-day operations including triage, root cause analysis, and evaluating business impact during incidents.
  • Conduct blameless post‑mortems and maintain a strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Manage production and change activities to improve customer experience and application value.
  • Reduce operational risks and maintain compliance across environments.
  • Provide continuous feedback throughout the product lifecycle to align operational needs with customer and product priorities.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with global teams across different time zones, including shift rotations for change deployments and on-call support.
  • Participate in the full lifecycle of services from design and development through deployment and operational improvements.
  • Assist with pre-launch activities such as system design consultations, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
  • Monitor live services for availability, latency, and system health.
  • Scale systems through automation and advocate improvements that enhance reliability and delivery speed.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines by validating releases and maintaining operational gates.
  • Promote DevOps practices and automation across engineering teams.
  • Respond to incidents using a structured approach and perform blameless postmortems.
  • Investigate production issues by connecting insights across the technology stack to improve recovery time.

Qualifications

  • Education: BS or BE in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of algorithms, data structures, scripting, pipeline management, and software design.
  • Experience debugging and optimizing code and automating repetitive operational tasks.
  • Preferred Technologies: Java, Splunk, Linux, Postgres, Oracle, Kafka, PCF, and cloud platforms.
  • CI/CD Tools: Git or BitBucket, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, XLR, and Chef.
  • Interest in automation and improving operational efficiency across systems.
