Role Overview
The Data Quality team within the Data Strategy and Management organization (Chief Data Office) focuses on strengthening Mastercard’s core data management initiatives and expanding enterprise data quality capabilities. The team works to protect and enhance the value of Mastercard’s data assets as new payment methods, ecosystem participants, and business models continue to evolve.
The Enterprise Data Quality group ensures that data remains reliable and suitable for business and analytical use. This involves identifying opportunities to improve data quality, developing mitigation strategies, and coordinating remediation activities with technology teams and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in building and enhancing data quality dashboards by collaborating with data sourcing teams, data strategy leads, data quality specialists, and business subject matter experts.
- Automate data pipelines and ETL workflows across cloud and on‑premise systems to support dashboard refresh cycles.
- Analyze datasets using SQL, cloud platforms, and workflow automation tools, then communicate insights to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain dashboards, reports, and supporting documentation that track acquisition activities and key performance indicators.
- Work closely with technical teams to run workflows and monitor the performance of data pipelines.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of data dashboards, analytics, data ecosystems, and data management concepts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field, master’s degree preferred.
- Hands-on experience with business intelligence and visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
- Proficiency in SQL with exposure to Python and familiarity with data wrangling, matching, and ETL practices.
- Knowledge of cloud-based data storage or processing technologies is beneficial.
- Ability to manage operational tasks, support process improvements, and coordinate projects with technical teams.
- Understanding of Mastercard products and systems is considered an advantage.
