Role Overview
This position focuses on software quality and test automation for web applications and services used in semiconductor inspection systems. The engineer will work closely with development teams to ensure reliable system behavior, strong test coverage, and consistent validation of software features.
The role involves building scalable automation frameworks, validating end‑to‑end workflows, and contributing to quality practices throughout the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze product requirements, architecture, and real customer workflows to design effective automation strategies and test coverage for web applications and services.
- Participate early in the software development lifecycle by reviewing functional and system designs to ensure testability and identify potential risks.
- Build and maintain a scalable automation framework using Playwright for web UI automation, following strong engineering practices and reusable components.
- Automate critical user workflows including smoke, regression, and high‑risk paths while validating complete flows across UI, backend services, and data layers.
- Develop automated validation for web services and APIs including functional checks, contract validation, negative scenarios, and error handling.
- Apply AI‑assisted automation practices where applicable to improve test reliability and reduce maintenance overhead.
- Create and manage test plans, automation suites, and execution pipelines with reporting and monitoring capabilities.
- Execute automated test runs, analyze failures, and differentiate between product defects and automation issues.
- Track automation coverage, quality trends, and release risks, and prioritize automation tasks based on defect patterns and critical usage scenarios.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, product owners, and system engineers to improve testability and maintain quality standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Software Engineering, Automation, Electronic Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Understanding of software quality control processes and web UI testing concepts.
- Experience with at least one programming or scripting language such as C, C++, Python, Perl, or VBScript.
- Familiarity with Visual Studio, automated testing frameworks, MySQL or Oracle databases, and Linux commands is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
