Role Overview
The Junior Engineer Intern (QA) will support the quality and reliability of software products by designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts. The position focuses on building and maintaining automation tests to detect and report software defects. You will collaborate closely with development teams to understand requirements and apply effective automated testing strategies.
This internship provides practical exposure to modern software testing practices and automation tools in a collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create automated test scripts using internal automation tools and frameworks.
- Work with development teams to understand product requirements and improve testability.
- Execute automated test cases to validate software functionality and reliability.
- Identify, investigate, and document software defects, then coordinate with developers to resolve them.
- Maintain test data, testing environments, and related documentation.
- Participate in test planning, estimation activities, and test strategy discussions.
- Contribute to improvements in test automation tools and processes.
- Stay informed about current testing methodologies, tools, and technologies.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to help deliver high quality software releases.
- Follow industry best practices for software testing and maintain strong quality standards.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Understanding of software testing concepts, methods, and techniques.
- Basic knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Java or Python.
- Exposure to automation testing tools or frameworks including Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Appium, or TestNG.
- Ability to analyze and debug software defects.
- Familiarity with tools such as TestNG, JUnit, Jenkins, Jira, or TestRail.
- Attention to detail and interest in delivering reliable software products.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative team environment.
