Role Overview

The Applications Development Programmer Analyst is an intermediate role that participates in building and enhancing application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The position focuses on contributing to application analysis, design, and programming activities while supporting business and technology objectives.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of application development practices and related technical areas to identify and define required system improvements.
• Analyze issues, recommend appropriate solutions, and support implementation.
• Use understanding of business processes, system workflows, and industry standards to resolve complex technical problems.
• Evaluate information and provide recommendations that improve existing systems and processes.
• Perform testing and debugging activities, use scripting tools, and develop code based on design specifications.
• Assess similar experiences and evaluate possible approaches when situations fall outside established procedures.
• Build working knowledge of Citi information systems, development standards, network operations, database administration, and data center processes.
• Evaluate risk when making business decisions and support compliance with policies, regulations, and internal controls while protecting the organization and its clients.

Qualifications

• 0 to 2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Exposure to programming and debugging within business applications.
• Understanding of industry practices and development standards.
• Knowledge of a specific business domain related to application development.
• Familiarity with programming languages and development tools.

Technical Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Core Java with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, and MyBatis, including JMS.
• Frontend experience with Angular (16+) or React, along with TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and RxJS.
• Hands-on exposure to Generative AI or agent-based AI tools and frameworks.
• Database experience with SQL systems such as Oracle or PostgreSQL, with familiarity in NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
• Experience with version control and CI/CD tools including Git and Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and modern web application architecture.
• Experience integrating AI models into production-level applications.
• Exposure to cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent university qualification, or comparable professional experience.
