About the Role
Infineon Technologies is seeking a Specialist IT to join our High Performance Computing (HPC) team in Bangalore. This role offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or final-year students eager to develop expertise in managing and optimizing HPC systems. You will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience in system operations, performance optimization, and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- HPC System Operations & Maintenance: Assist in monitoring and maintaining uptime of HPC clusters, troubleshoot hardware/software issues in compute nodes, storage, and interconnects.
- Automation & Scripting: Support automation of repetitive tasks using Python or Bash, and collaborate on developing system administration tools.
- Monitoring & Incident Management: Help set up and optimize monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, and participate in incident response and root cause analysis.
- Collaboration & Support: Work with senior engineers to support HPC users, document runbooks and solutions, and assist in workload troubleshooting.
- Learning & Development: Engage in on-the-job training, stay updated on HPC trends, cloud integration, and site reliability engineering.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Recent graduates and final-year students are encouraged to apply.
- Basic understanding of Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- Familiarity with Python, Bash, or C++.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS) and system administration.
- Interest in High Performance Computing, cloud infrastructure, or distributed systems.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of parallel computing concepts, workload schedulers (LSF), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Exposure to automation tools like Ansible or Terraform is advantageous.
