Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Student or Intern Generalist, you will work with IBM while pursuing your academic program or during university breaks. The position is designed to help students gain practical experience in a professional environment.

• Assist with projects: Contribute to different projects and tasks while gaining exposure to multiple areas of the business and building practical skills.
• Support teams: Work alongside experienced professionals, assist in day-to-day activities, and learn from their expertise while building professional relationships.
• Participate in learning opportunities: Use available training resources and learning programs to strengthen knowledge and prepare for future roles.

Technical Exposure

• Hands-on experience with Core Java, object-oriented analysis and design, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Development of end-user applications, APIs, services, and libraries.
• Exposure to product development projects.
• Familiarity with microservices technologies such as gRPC or REST, along with Docker, Kubernetes, IDL technologies like Protobuf or Thrift, NoSQL databases, or Big Data tools is beneficial.
• Working knowledge of Git and Linux environments.
• Understanding of application development processes including design, coding, CI/CD pipelines, and unit testing.
• Experience with xUnit testing approaches and testing tools such as mocks, stubs, or fakes.
• Ability to follow coding standards and document code clearly.
• Exposure to concurrent programming concepts such as multi-threaded or multi-process architectures.
