Tools & Automation Engineer

This role is designed as an onsite position with the expectation that the selected candidate will primarily work from an HPE office.

Job Description

Job Family Definition

Responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging software programs used for enhancements and new products. The work includes building software such as operating systems, compilers, networking tools, utilities, databases, and internet related applications. The role may also evaluate hardware compatibility or influence hardware design.

Management Level Definition

Works on assignments with limited scope using technical concepts and theoretical knowledge gained through education, training, or previous experience. Contributes as a team member by providing analysis, recommendations, and information that support team efforts while applying independent judgment within defined guidelines.

What You'll Do

• Develop and code enhancements, updates, and changes for portions of system software, including operating systems, compilers, networking utilities, databases, and internet related tools.
• Execute established test plans and protocols for assigned code components while identifying, logging, and debugging issues.
• Build understanding and working relationships with internal teams and outsourced development partners involved in software system design and development.
• Participate in project teams with other software engineers and development partners to deliver reliable, cost effective, and high quality solutions for products with low to moderate complexity.

What You Need to Bring

• Understanding or experience with software system design tools and programming languages.
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Knowledge of designing software systems that operate across multiple platform types.
• Familiarity with basic testing, coding, and debugging processes.
• Good written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in English and the local language.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent discipline.
• Typically requires 0 to 2 years of relevant experience.
