Systems/Software Engineer I (Entry Level)

This position follows a hybrid work model with an expectation of working from the HPE office approximately two days per week.

What You Will Do

• Develop and implement enhancements, updates, and modifications for components and subsystems of systems software including operating systems, compilers, networking utilities, databases, and internet related tools.
• Execute defined test plans and follow testing protocols for assigned code modules, identifying, logging, and debugging issues as required.
• Build an understanding of internal and outsourced development teams involved in software systems design and development.
• Work as part of a project team with other software engineers and development partners to create reliable, cost effective, and high quality solutions for low to moderately complex products.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Typically 0 to 2 years of professional experience.

Knowledge and Skills

• Familiarity with software systems design tools and programming languages.
• Understanding of software design for systems that operate across multiple platform types.
• Knowledge of basic testing practices, coding standards, and debugging techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and the local language.

Additional Technical Areas

Exposure to areas such as cloud architectures, distributed computing, DevOps practices, microservices, testing and automation, solutions design, user experience, and full stack development is beneficial.
