Overview
Job Summary
This role provides L1 operational support for Linux servers, mainly in RHEL and CentOS environments. You will monitor server health, availability, CPU, memory, filesystem and disk utilization, and handle basic user, group and password administration along with access-related tasks.
Day to day, you will troubleshoot filesystem, service, process and basic network issues, plus basic boot, connectivity and system performance problems. You will also carry out routine patching and OS maintenance as per defined procedures, and run basic backup and recovery checks and scheduled health checks.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor alerts and take initial corrective actions based on SOPs and runbooks.
- Handle incidents and service requests within defined SLA timelines.
- Execute approved standard changes and operational activities.
- Escalate complex technical issues to Linux L2/L3 teams with full troubleshooting details.
- Maintain incident, change and operational documentation in ServiceNow.
- Follow ITIL processes, security standards and production change controls.
