About the Role

The Associate Software Engineer supports the design, development, and maintenance of software applications while working within a cross‑functional agile team. The role involves collaborating with engineers, architects, and product stakeholders to build and improve healthcare technology solutions.

Engineers contribute to application development, testing, deployment automation, and ongoing product improvements. The position focuses on writing high‑quality code, troubleshooting issues, and helping deliver reliable, scalable systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop software applications and supporting infrastructure following established coding standards and methodologies.
• Ensure product quality through automated testing including unit, API, end‑to‑end, and load testing.
• Create tools, test harnesses, and other solutions that help measure and monitor product quality.
• Build infrastructure as code to support automated and reliable application deployments.
• Use cloud‑managed services to develop scalable and secure applications.
• Create proof‑of‑concept implementations to evaluate new ideas and technical approaches.
• Perform code reviews to improve understanding and maintain code quality across the team.
• Troubleshoot and debug existing software to identify and resolve root causes of issues.
• Develop intuitive user interfaces using modern front‑end frameworks and styling techniques.
• Collaborate with architects, designers, business analysts, and other team members to implement solutions.
• Work in an Agile Scrum environment and contribute to continuous improvement practices.
• Interpret database models and coordinate with database engineers when required.
• Assist product owners with backlog grooming, story breakdown, and estimation.
• Document software changes so they can be used by engineering, QA, and documentation teams.
• Build technical knowledge through structured assignments, training sessions, and hands‑on project work.
• Apply fundamental software engineering concepts and established practices to address routine technical challenges.
• Participate actively in team meetings, training programs, and engagement activities.

Technical Environment

The development environment may include technologies such as .NET Core, C#, Java, SQL, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python. Teams may also work with modern web technologies like Angular, HTML5, CSS or SASS, and Single Page Applications.

Additional tooling and platforms can include automated testing frameworks, microservices architecture, CI/CD tools, container technologies, cloud platforms such as AWS, and modern database systems including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, and Elasticsearch.

Work Environment

This is primarily a sedentary role where work is performed at a computer workstation for most of the day. The position requires regular keyboard use, extended periods of screen time, and clear communication with team members and stakeholders through digital collaboration tools.

Team members are expected to work collaboratively in a professional environment and participate in discussions, meetings, and project activities as part of daily operations.
