Overview
Job Objective
The role involves working closely with the New Product Development (NPD) team to support the execution of prototype projects in line with the new product launch plan. The position collaborates with NPD, AE, purchasing, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to achieve First Time Right (FTR) results in product development.
The trainee will also monitor existing manufacturing processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
Primary Responsibilities
Strategic and Planning
- Promote and support a culture of continual improvement across manufacturing operations.
- Assist with the implementation of Teamcenter within the Manufacturing Engineering function.
- Work on cost optimization initiatives while maintaining product quality standards.
Functional Responsibilities
- Participate in design reviews to identify potential manufacturing challenges and discuss technical considerations with engineering teams before drawing approvals.
- Perform risk assessments during the design phase.
- Develop make-or-buy strategies based on component criticality to achieve Right First Time outcomes.
- Create working standards such as manufacturing process designs for fabricated and machined components and standard operating procedures.
- Develop manufacturing routings.
- Conduct work measurement and method studies to identify opportunities to optimize existing manufacturing processes.
- Support the execution of new product development activities.
- Assist in the concept design and development of jigs and fixtures.
- Perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve manufacturing issues.
- Contribute ideas focused on cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
- Provide technical support to production teams and suppliers during development activities.
- Prepare cost estimations for components.

10. Ability to generate Cost saving ideas
