Job Description:

The Junior Data Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day monitoring, performing initial checks, basic troubleshooting, data validation, updating tickets, and documenting activities related to data engineering pipelines and applications. This position requires a fundamental understanding of SQL, data engineering principles, ETL/ELT processes, monitoring, incident management, and production support. The individual will work under the guidance of intermediate and senior engineers.

• Monitor scheduled data pipeline executions, job statuses, alerts, file arrivals, and data refresh activities.
• Conduct first-level checks for job failures, missing files, incomplete data loads, data mismatches, and alert notifications.
• Create, update, and track incidents, service requests, tasks, and change requests within ServiceNow.
• Execute basic SQL queries, perform data checks, validate job outputs, and assist with source-to-target reconciliation.
• Collect logs, screenshots, error messages, and relevant details before escalating complex issues to senior team members.
• Support documentation efforts, including runbooks, SOPs, operational checklists, daily status updates, and knowledge transfer activities.
• Assist with routine production support tasks, monitoring reports, and operational reporting under supervision.
