Role Summary

Fox Tech, the technology division of Fox Corporation, is inviting applications for the role of Android Developer Intern with a specialization in Video Playback Engineering. This internship offers an immersive experience in designing and developing video playback technologies used in live and on-demand streaming across FOX platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering a top-tier Android video playback experience for live and VOD content
• Write clean, modular, and well-documented Kotlin/Java code
• Contribute enhancements to internal SDKs, sample applications, and developer tools
• Debug and fix issues such as memory leaks, performance bottlenecks, and ANRs on various Android devices
• Work closely with experienced engineers in a collaborative team environment

Desired Candidate Profile

• Strong interest in video playback systems and software development
• Hands-on experience or coursework in Kotlin or Java
• Familiarity with Android development tools like Android Studio, Gradle, and Git
• Demonstrated interest in building mobile or media applications (class projects, GitHub, Play Store apps)
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to adapt and learn in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have)

• Experience working with ExoPlayer, Media3, or similar media frameworks
• Knowledge of adaptive streaming protocols such as HLS or DASH
• Understanding of video codecs like H.264, HEVC, or AV1
• Exposure to native modules using JNI or C++
• Projects related to live streaming, FFmpeg, or computer vision overlays
