Role Description

As a Software Engineer at FireMon, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining software that integrates with various network security devices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management and Sales Engineering to design reliable, efficient, and scalable solutions for leading security technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement support for new and emerging technologies in the network security industry
• Build device integration solutions for a variety of firewall brands including Palo Alto, Juniper, Checkpoint, and APAC-specific vendors
• Research and gather integration requirements from admin/user/CLI guides and similar resources
• Understand the internal functionality of network security devices and design logic structures usable within the application
• Collaborate with Sales Engineering teams to prioritize device development tasks based on customer and prospect feedback, especially in the APAC region
• Participate in occasional support and customer calls to diagnose and resolve device-related issues

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field

Technical Skills Required

Java, Bash, Python, Linux, Maven, SQL, JUnit, XML, XSLT, RESTful web services, logback, log4j, Regex, Cisco, Juniper, Check Point, Palo Alto, Agile, Scrum, XSD

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong proficiency in Java with an understanding of performance tuning and object-oriented principles
• Scripting skills in BASH or Python
• Experience in working with Linux command-line environments
• Familiarity with build tools and frameworks such as Maven, SQL, JUnit
• Knowledge of XML/XSLT and RESTful APIs
• Experience with logging frameworks such as logback or log4j
• In-depth understanding of network devices from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, Check Point, Palo Alto
• Experience working with regular expressions (Regex)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently, learn new systems, and become a subject matter expert
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-role environment with a team-focused mindset
• High emotional intelligence and a positive attitude

Preferred Skills and Certifications

• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
• XML/XSD design experience
• Expertise with firewall technologies (Cisco, Check Point, Juniper, or others)
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA or CCIE are a plus
