Job Description
The Cash Application Specialist manages the company's incoming payments and makes sure cash receipts are recorded and applied accurately. This role works closely with the accounting team to keep records current and resolve payment discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply daily cash receipts accurately to customer accounts.
- Process and post payments received by check, ACH, wire transfer, and credit card.
- Reconcile payment discrepancies and apply adjustments as needed.
- Regularly reconcile accounts receivable subledgers to the general ledger.
- Investigate and resolve variances found during reconciliations.
- Communicate with customers about payment inquiries and discrepancies.
- Work with the collections team to resolve overdue accounts.
- Keep accurate and detailed records of all transactions.
