Eaton is looking to hire an Associate Engineer, Mechanical in Pune, India. The role supports the Research and Development Engineering department.

Primary functions for this position include:

• Collaborating with technology and product teams to drive analysis-first deployment.
• Understanding the product and evaluating requirements (CTQs) for systems, sub-systems and components with internal and external customers.
• Deploying digital prototype methodologies to predict structural and thermal performance against CTQs and requirements.

Key responsibilities:

1. Develop simulation models for mechanical systems and assemblies in electrical products using ANSYS and related software.
2. Interpret, summarize and communicate simulation results to local and global audiences, and provide technical or design recommendations.
3. Study product information to perform analytical calculations and simulations that verify the design.
4. Partner with India and global teams to understand design intent, then develop and validate simulation models.
5. Work with cross-functional teams to deepen understanding of existing simulation methods and help mature them further.

Skills

Candidates should have a strong academic background, with a minimum of 8.0 CGPA or equivalent, and solid engineering fundamentals in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, strength of materials, and theory of machines and mechanisms.

• Working knowledge of ANSYS Mechanical, Fluent, MSC ADAMS and MATLAB is an advantage.
• Technical report writing.
• Good communication and articulation skills, collaboration with local and global stakeholders, learning agility, drive and energy.
