Role Overview

This role is part of the Investment Bank and Corporate Bank Infrastructure within the Finance function. The team operates within the Chief Financial Office (CFO) organization, which manages financial reporting, analysis, and advisory services for Deutsche Bank’s businesses.

The finance teams deliver accurate and timely financial information while providing analysis and guidance to business units and infrastructure functions. The CFO organization supports decision making, manages risk, and monitors financial performance across the bank.

The Deutsche Bank ADP Programme

The ADP programme focuses on the Investment Bank (IB) and Corporate Bank (CB) divisions. Participants gain experience through hands-on roles in Business Finance, Treasury, and IB or CB CFO teams. Learning takes place through mentorship, collaboration with peers and management, and structured learning sessions.

Formal training includes functional boot camps, technical training sessions, and courses available through the Deutsche Bank training portal.

About the Finance Division

The finance organization, operating under the Chief Financial Office, oversees the financial operations of Deutsche Bank. Global teams provide reliable reporting, insights, and analysis that support the bank’s business divisions.

The CFO group includes functions such as Tax, Group Finance, Chief Accounting Office, Treasury, Planning and Performance Management, and Investor Relations. It also consists of dedicated finance teams aligned with business divisions and regional operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and validate data required for reporting, including entity level P&L and balance sheet information, and upload the data to reporting tools for business sign off.
  • Conduct variance analysis and prepare commentary on reports, investigating unusual movements across P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet items.
  • Support month end close activities including standard postings, quarterly disclosures, accrual bookings, manual adjustments, and suspense account clearance.
  • Prepare reconciliations at product or feed level and reconcile P&L to entity level reporting.
  • Document updates in key operating procedures (KOPs) and other data management processes.
  • Investigate reporting or data issues and perform routine or ad hoc adjustments when required.
  • Collaborate with analysts across teams to support different business processes.
  • Assist finance and business leaders with queries from various regions and sub businesses.

  • Strong data analysis capability.

  • Understanding of basic finance and banking concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
