Description
Cummins Inc. is looking for a Software Engineer I who will build high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software in compliance with coding standards and technical design. The role involves designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications. You will also participate in testing processes, support installations, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop software solutions by analyzing business needs, system flows, and work processes
- Create detailed documentation, flowcharts, and layouts for solutions
- Evaluate feasibility of requirements and proposed solutions
- Design, prepare, and install software by defining system specifications and standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze business requirements
- Conduct system analysis and recommend improvements
- Lead or contribute to Agile development, testing, and architecture practices
- Ensure compliance with IT security and regulatory standards
- Stay updated with industry trends and participate in professional learning opportunities
Education Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience Required
- Internship or project experience in software engineering preferred
- Experience in Agile development environment
- Strong IT fundamentals and ability to take solutions from design to launch
