Overview
Software Engineer in Test II
The Software Engineer in Test II (SET II) improves application testability by building software that supports testing efforts. This role requires solid development ability and the capacity to collaborate effectively with support teams, QA groups, and development teams while working independently with limited supervision.
The engineer works within an Agile environment and should be comfortable learning and adopting new business, technical, and process concepts quickly.
Principal Accountabilities
- Design and implement automated testing frameworks and supporting tools.
- Develop software that enhances the testability of APIs.
- Coordinate and communicate with internal teams across development and QA.
- Create and maintain SDLC artifacts and assist in review processes.
- Work alongside Senior and Lead SET engineers to identify automation opportunities and address testability challenges.
Skills and Software Requirements
- Strong understanding of object-oriented principles, preferably using Java.
- Experience working with Oracle databases.
- Exposure to Big Data environments.
- Scripting knowledge such as Python, Perl, or Bash.
