Overview
Citi is looking for a motivated and detail focused individual to join the team as a Reference Data Services Representative. The position supports the accuracy and integrity of reference data used across key business processes. The selected candidate will manage the setup, maintenance, and validation of both static and dynamic reference data across multiple systems.
This role offers an opportunity for an MBA graduate to gain practical exposure to financial data management while working in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and complete mandatory reports on time and in accordance with required standards.
- Handle daily operations involving the creation, update, and removal of reference data such as securities, legal entities, counterparties, and market data.
- Maintain data accuracy, completeness, and consistency by following established governance policies and procedures.
- Verify incoming data against source documentation and internal systems, identifying and resolving discrepancies when required.
- Work with internal teams including Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Risk Management, and Technology to address reference data requests and issues.
- Assist with testing activities related to system upgrades, enhancements, and new data initiatives.
- Maintain documentation of procedures, workflows, and data definitions to support knowledge sharing.
- Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to automation efforts that improve efficiency and data quality.
- Stay updated on industry practices and regulatory requirements associated with reference data management.
Qualifications
- MBA degree preferred.
- Strong academic performance demonstrating analytical and problem solving ability.
- High attention to detail with a focus on maintaining data accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
- Basic knowledge of financial markets, instruments, and operational processes is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast moving team environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills along with interpersonal ability.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and take initiative in new situations.
