Role Overview

The Model / Analysis / Validation Analyst I is an entry level professional role that requires a solid understanding of internal processes, systems and procedures. The role involves applying analytical methods to evaluate data, identify solutions and support risk management initiatives. Work is performed with guidance and follows established practices and precedents.

The position contributes to business operations through the quality and accuracy of assigned tasks and services. Clear communication and the ability to exchange information effectively with team members are important aspects of the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance and validate methods used to measure and analyze different types of risk, including market, credit and operational risk.
• Support the development and validation of scoring models and related policy frameworks.
• Prepare regular and ad hoc reports for the Risk Management team while performing integrity checks and verifying key metrics.
• Assist in projects focused on improving risk analytics, modeling and validation systems as well as optimizing reporting processes.
• Work with database structures, business categories and internal banking processes while applying statistical and mathematical concepts.
• Apply analytical and process management techniques to maintain quality control of generated data.
• Collaborate with both senior and junior team members to deliver reports, analyses and project outcomes.
• Assess risks when business decisions are made while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, policies and ethical standards.

Skills and Exposure

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel.
• Understanding of statistical and analytical concepts.
• Ability to communicate information clearly in written and verbal formats.
• Attention to detail and a self driven approach to work.
