The Counsel II position is an intermediate role responsible for offering legal guidance and support to business teams. The role focuses on delivering legal advice, interpreting regulations, and helping the organization manage legal and regulatory matters affecting its operations.
The selected candidate will gain exposure to contract drafting and negotiations, mainly across the APAC region and potentially other global markets. Work will involve Citi’s global product offerings including Custody, Trade, Commercial Cards, Cash Accounts, and Liquidity Management solutions such as Target Balancing and Notional Cash Pooling. The role also involves collaboration with a global workforce and engagement with clients and their legal counsel.
The position is part of the APAC Client Solutions Legal Team, which has members based in Malaysia and Mumbai. It requires a proactive attorney who understands business operations and the legal frameworks governing the regions where Citi operates.
The role calls for sound legal judgment and the ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal solutions while supporting strategic initiatives.
