Accountabilities

  • Assist business areas with daily initiatives such as processing, reviewing, reporting, trading support, and issue resolution.
  • Work collaboratively with teams across the bank to align and integrate operational processes.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and provide recommendations to enhance operational workflows.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures and controls to manage risk and maintain efficiency.
  • Prepare reports and presentations related to operational performance and communicate insights to senior internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor industry developments and apply best practices within banking operations.
  • Participate in initiatives and projects aimed at improving operational effectiveness.

Role Responsibilities

In this position, the Team Support Specialist will focus on reconciliation activities including daily, weekly, bi-weekly, and month-end processes. The role supports operational reconciliations, payment-related activities, and Breaks Management for the GRS Barclaycard Production team.

  • Ensure service level agreements are achieved according to defined timelines.
  • Perform daily reconciliations and manage account breaks within the defined delinquency period.
  • Ensure compliance with AO&R policies and the GL Controls Framework.
  • Handle journal processing and risk reporting following defined SOP and ALP guidelines.
  • Prepare reconciliation templates and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve open items.
  • Provide information and analysis for reconciliation and management information activities.
  • Follow applicable policies and procedures and maintain compliance standards.
  • Process customer adjustments and settlements within PSD control requirements.
  • Collate and analyze financial data from multiple reports and systems.
  • Support operational change initiatives and improvement projects when required.
  • Ensure adherence to SOX and operational risk control requirements.
  • Conduct calls with stakeholders and manage customer expectations when necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and support enhanced service delivery.
  • Contribute to the implementation of best practices within operational processes.

Desirable Skills

  • Understanding of reconciliation processes
  • Knowledge of the card industry is beneficial
  • Awareness of the trade lifecycle
  • Experience or familiarity with tools such as SAP and Intellimatch
