Job Description

This role focuses on supporting the organisation’s financial operations while maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial reporting. The analyst works with finance teams to ensure accounting records and statements are prepared according to applicable standards and regulatory requirements.

Purpose of the Role

Manage and support financial control processes, ensuring that financial statements, reporting, and accounting practices are maintained with strong governance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements and accounting records in accordance with relevant accounting standards, rules, and regulations.
  • Assist with identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks, and communicate risk insights to senior colleagues.
  • Help develop and maintain internal control frameworks that protect assets, prevent misreporting, and ensure the reliability of financial data.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of financial policies and procedures to ensure consistent financial practices across the organisation.
  • Support the selection, implementation, and upkeep of financial systems and applications, working with IT teams to integrate finance platforms with other enterprise systems.
  • Prepare and submit statutory or regulatory reports and provide assistance to other departments during their reporting processes.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during audits and examinations.

  • Contribute to the work of related teams and collaborate with multiple functions across the organisation.
  • Take responsibility for outcomes related to operational processing and team activities.
  • Escalate policy or procedure breaches where required and support the adoption of new risk mitigation practices.
  • Influence decision making within the assigned area of expertise and provide informed recommendations.
  • Take ownership of managing risk and strengthening internal controls within assigned responsibilities.
  • Develop an understanding of how the sub-function connects with broader organisational processes, products, and services.
  • Use analysis of factual information to make informed judgements and maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Resolve issues by identifying solutions based on technical experience and established precedents.
  • Communicate complex or sensitive information and build relationships with stakeholders within and outside the team.
