Job Description

Purpose of the Role

The role focuses on managing the organisation’s financial operations while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial reporting.

Accountabilities

• Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements and accounting records in line with applicable accounting standards, rules, and regulations.
• Support the identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial risks, and provide reporting on these risks to senior stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain strong internal control frameworks to safeguard assets, prevent misreporting, and ensure the accuracy of financial data. This includes periodic evaluation of controls and addressing any identified gaps.
• Create and implement updated financial policies and procedures to maintain consistent financial practices across the organisation.
• Manage the selection, implementation, and maintenance of financial systems and applications, working with IT teams to integrate them with other enterprise systems.
• Prepare and submit statutory and regulatory reports to relevant authorities and assist other departments in preparing and reviewing regulatory submissions.
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities during audits and examinations.

• Conduct detailed analysis using information from multiple internal and external sources to address problems effectively.
• Communicate complex or sensitive information clearly to relevant stakeholders.
• Influence and engage stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.

Basic / Essential Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant such as CA or CS.
• Strong academic background with first class honours and a minimum bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution.
• Experience, if any, in month-end or quarter-end reporting roles, control environments, or finance automation related work.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Desirable Skills

• Ability to engage stakeholders and understand their requirements.
• Knowledge of key accounting principles under IFRS.
• Good interpersonal and communication abilities.
