Job Description
Barclays is seeking an Analyst Rates Compression (Strats) to join the Mumbai team, supporting key trading desk initiatives related to compression, portfolio optimisation and risk analytics. The position blends quantitative analysis, technology and operational execution to deliver solutions for the global Macro business.
The role involves working on established compression and portfolio restructuring processes while contributing to strategic technology initiatives linked to risk, PnL and capital. It is a hands-on technical role with exposure to Trading, Quants, Strats and Technology teams.
Candidates will apply analytical and coding skills while developing knowledge of interest rate products, derivatives and trading desk operations within a collaborative environment.
Purpose of the Role
Provide quantitative and analytical expertise that supports trading strategies, risk management and decision making within the investment banking environment. The role applies quantitative analysis, mathematical modelling and technology to help optimise trading and investment outcomes.
Accountabilities
- Develop and implement quantitative models and strategies to analyse market trends and improve trading decisions, pricing and risk management across financial products and markets.
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand client requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
- Perform research, data analysis and statistical modelling to identify insights related to market pricing and risk dynamics.
- Support front office infrastructure through ownership and maintenance of analytical libraries.
- Provide expertise on quantitative techniques, technological developments and industry practices to encourage innovation in the trading environment.

- Analyse factual information carefully, make evaluative judgements and resolve issues using acquired technical knowledge and precedents.
- Communicate complex information clearly and build relationships with stakeholders across and outside the team.
