Job Description

Purpose of the Role

The role focuses on developing and implementing the bank’s financial planning and stress testing methodologies. It involves evaluating the organisation’s resilience across different economic scenarios and supporting financial risk assessment and capital planning.

Accountabilities

• Develop and implement stress testing methodologies, analyse outcomes to identify vulnerabilities, assess capital adequacy, and support risk mitigation strategies.
• Manage financial risks by contributing to risk management approaches and communicating financial risk insights to relevant stakeholders.
• Analyse the bank’s capital position, evaluate regulatory capital requirements, and support strategies that optimise capital utilisation and allocation.
• Coordinate planning and stress testing process cycles, including project management of planning activities and stress test delivery.
• Document regulatory requirements and track process or data owner activities while reporting progress through governance forums and workflow tools.
• Manage data flows and ensure data quality from contributors, covering the entire process from input through to report submission.
• Oversee BAU systems to enable timely development of capital or funding plans and support initiatives aimed at improving processes.
• Maintain ownership of the control environment and standards, working with relevant teams to ensure governance and control objectives are met.
• Provide governance support including regulatory liaison, engagement with boards, group attestation processes, and coordination with external auditors.

Additional Preferred Skills

• Strong business acumen with exposure to banking environments.
• Sound understanding of finance concepts and financial statements.

• Exposure to data and reporting tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, or Tableau.
• Knowledge of risk and controls practices in day to day operations.
