Job Description

This role focuses on managing financial operations and supporting accurate, reliable financial reporting across the organisation. The position ensures that financial records, processes, and reporting comply with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Purpose of the Role

Oversee and support financial reporting processes while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial data. The role contributes to strong financial governance and effective control frameworks.

Accountabilities

• Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements and accounting records in accordance with relevant accounting standards, rules, and regulations.
• Assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks, and communicate risk-related insights to senior colleagues.
• Develop and maintain effective internal control systems to safeguard assets and ensure reliable financial information.
• Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and address identified gaps or weaknesses.
• Create and maintain financial policies and procedures to support consistent financial practices across the organisation.
• Support the selection, implementation, and maintenance of financial systems and software, working with IT teams to integrate systems with enterprise platforms.
• Prepare and submit statutory and regulatory reports, and assist other teams with the preparation and review of regulatory submissions.
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during audits and examinations.

Basic / Essential Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant such as CA, CMA, or ACCA.
• Strong academic background with a first-class honours bachelor's degree from a reputable institution.
• Exposure to month-end or quarter-end reporting processes, control environments, or finance automation is beneficial.
• Strong proficiency in Excel.

Desirable Skills

• Ability to work with stakeholders and understand business requirements.
• Knowledge of key accounting standards under IFRS.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
