Overview
The Banking Support Analyst provides comprehensive support to the Banking team, assisting with various functions essential for informed decision-making and operational efficiency. This role contributes to information retrieval, analytics, and compliance tasks in coordination with the banking team. The analyst supports Investment Banking teams globally by providing foundational support for a wide range of transactions, including capital raises and mergers and acquisitions. The overall objective is to provide broad support across multiple areas, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to internal and external requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide essential support to various teams within the Banking division. Specific duties, all performed under guidance, may include:
- Assist with the execution of data gathering and documentation related to potential deals, ensuring adherence to established procedures.
- Support senior team members in identifying potential conflicts of interest by compiling relevant information.
- Assist in compiling market data and creating basic charts and graphs for presentations.
- Support senior team members in the preparation of competitor analysis reports.
- Assist in maintaining databases of key contacts and client information under supervision.
- Help organize and distribute market research reports to the banking team, following established procedures.
- Support the Banking team by executing assigned tasks related to deals, business development, and product or coverage efforts.
- Assist in the collection, organization, and validation of data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity for reporting and analysis.
- Support the creation of reports, presentations, and marketing materials for the Banking team, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Assist in maintaining and updating databases related to clients, transactions, market data, and other relevant information.
- Support the team in conducting due diligence and preparing risk assessments by gathering and organizing information.
- Assist with deal-oriented and operational tasks, including preparing documentation and managing project timelines under supervision.
- Collaborate with team members to improve data management processes and streamline workflows.
- Assist with other operational tasks as needed.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in banking, finance, or a related field.
- Proven ability to gather, organize, and analyze data effectively.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of financial markets and concepts, banking operations preferred.
- Commitment to maintaining data accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
Education
- Bachelor's or University degree or equivalent experience in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
