About the Role
Atlassian is hiring a Data Engineer to join its Data Engineering team. This team plays a crucial role in building and maintaining the data lake, managing large-scale data pipelines, and moving billions of data messages daily. As a Data Engineer, you will partner with business stakeholders and engineering teams to power data-driven strategies focused on growth and retention.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines that ingest and transform data at scale
- Collaborate with stakeholders to accelerate data ingestion into the company’s data lake
- Optimize and monitor data pipelines for performance and reliability
- Implement strategies to enable self-serve data engineering across teams
- Strategize measurement approaches, collect data, and extract meaningful insights
- Maintain documentation and ensure data quality and compliance
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Airflow
- Proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as Python
- Experience working with cloud platforms, especially AWS
- Familiarity with real-time data processing tools like Kafka
- Deep understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and ETL pipelines
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
