Job Purpose and Impact
As an Associate Software Engineer at Cargill, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of software applications and systems. Working under close supervision, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new features, enhance existing systems, and ensure optimal performance through clean, efficient, and scalable code. You will also participate in code reviews to uphold high-quality standards and learn from experienced engineering team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Software Development: Assist in creating high-quality software solutions by writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Automation: Utilize internal deployment platforms, methodologies, and tools to automate release processes for smooth and reliable deployments.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, architects, and engineers to gather requirements and deliver solutions aligned with business and cybersecurity objectives.
- Testing & Debugging: Develop and maintain unit and integration tests, and perform debugging to ensure software quality and performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend and help implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability in development and deployment.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation for applications, deployment processes, and system configurations.
- Technical Support: Provide support and troubleshooting for standard application issues to minimize downtime and ensure quick resolution.
Qualifications
- No minimum years of experience required; typically suited for candidates with up to 2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
