Associate Engineer - Mechanical Design at Eaton Pune | Freshers

What you'll do:

• Execute projects and assignments assigned by the team leader or engineering manager. Create and revise engineering documentation such as detail drawings, 3D models, bills of material, and component specifications to support the design, development, and manufacturing of all Conveyance products.
• Perform engineering assignments related to product design, testing, and preparation of specifications with guidance from senior engineers or team leads.
• Work on or own a specific design module of a larger mechanical system design. Develop design concepts independently. Maintain effective communication with team members and other departments.
• Adhere to design standards and procedures governing product design methods, documents, drawings, and data control. Emphasis is on documentation, monitoring, and testing.
• Participate in the deployment of ACES and other relevant standards to conform designs to requirements. Understand, implement, and adhere to Eaton's product launch processes.
• Grow expertise in multiple CAD tools with proficiency in various design modules such as sheet metal, cabling, solid models, and harness. Provide CAD support to specific customers using specified CAD software and data exchange systems.
• Prepare fully parametric designs incorporating component design methodology, DFM, DFA, and drafting standards. Perform initial quality checks to ensure drawings and concepts meet Eaton and customer standards.
• Work on design concepts ideation and quick block modeling. Recommend technical changes or modifications as needed.
• Apply appropriate GD&T and tolerance stack-up for detailed designs in line with component design methodologies.
• Utilize DFSS concepts and tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management, and DVPR for new product development or existing product improvements.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Required: 0 to 1.5 years of engineering or product design experience in a relevant domain.

Skills:

• Proficiency in one or more CAD tools, preferably CATIA, and experience with PLM tools.
• Hardworking with a desire for excellence in executing projects.
• Strong and effective communication skills.
• Root Cause Analysis.

Desired: Awareness of DFSS tools like FMEA, FMECA, Monte Carlo Analysis, etc.
